About Gil

The work I teach is the work I lived.

Author. Teacher. Someone still asking honest questions. Gil Hodges helps people recognize the agreements shaping their lives and choose again from a freer place.

Most of us are living from agreements we never consciously chose.

Agreements about who we are, what we are allowed to want, what God is like, what love requires, what success means, and what makes us worthy.

The short version

Better questions changed the shape of the work.

Gil spent decades inside inherited beliefs, identities, and expectations before learning how to question them honestly.

He has run businesses, led churches, led ministries, built community, and taught in the spiritual field for years. He genuinely loved helping people, but life eventually brought him to a place where the old answers stopped answering the questions he was actually living.

Relationships shifted. Certainties cracked. Things he had built his life around no longer fit. So he started asking better questions: What is fear, and what is love? What is my authentic self, and what is conditioning? What part of my life did I choose, and what part did I simply agree to?

01

Choice

I wrote “Choice” after discovering that one conscious choice can begin to change the direction of an entire life. It is an invitation to notice the agreement underneath the habit and choose again from freedom.

02

Breaking Your Matrix

I wrote “Breaking Your Matrix” to help people see the hidden beliefs and conditioning that have been shaping their lives. It is an invitation to untether from old programming and remember who you really are.

03

Free From Religion

I wrote Free From Religion for those who have outgrown fear, performance, and rigid religious systems but still hunger for a genuine spiritual life. It is an invitation to discover a deeper freedom, a larger love, and a direct connection with the Divine.

The public work

Gil is not offering a theory from a distance.

The work now lives through books, Sunday Morning Meditation, The Gathering, Authenticity Groups, Choice and Breaking Your Matrix courses, and The Pearl in Collinsville, Mississippi.

Those doorways give people several levels of entry: a free live room, a book to read slowly, a guided practice, a group to process with, a course path to walk, and a retreat setting for deeper restoration.

Author

Three core books.

Choice, Breaking Your Matrix, and Free From Religion carry the language of agreements, awareness, and spiritual freedom.

Live rooms

Weekly public practice.

Gil hosts Sunday Morning Meditation and The Gathering as free doorways for people who want to feel the work before choosing more.

Courses

Practice with rhythm.

Choice and Breaking Your Matrix turn the books into lessons, handouts, video teaching, and a pace people can actually live with.

Sanctuary

The Pearl.

The Pearl is the land-based expression of the same work: rest, retreat, honest conversation, and embodied community.

What Gil teaches

Your life is shaped by agreements. Freedom begins when you can see them.

Some agreements come through family. Some through religion. Some through culture. Some through fear. Some were made just to survive.

Once you become consciously aware of them, you are no longer trapped by them in the same way. You can choose again.

This is not perfection. It is not performance. It begins in awareness, then choice, then learning to live from love, joy, peace, and real authenticity.

Awareness

See the agreement.

Name the hidden yes beneath the reaction, fear, shame, or survival role.

Choice

Pause the old script.

Practice one honest step instead of letting inherited programming run the room.

Love

Learn to be.

Move beyond religious boxes into a way of living with more peace, joy, and authenticity.

The Pearl

A place where the teaching becomes a life.

Gil lives at The Pearl, a piece of land in Mississippi becoming a place for rest, honest conversation, healing, breathwork, meditation, and remembering who we are underneath the noise.

Some people come for a weekend. Some stay longer. Some simply join online through Sunday Meditation or The Gathering. No pressure. No performance. Just real people learning to live a little more free.
